Academic Writing Month (AcWriMo) is here, and I'm opening my co-working sessions to everyone - completely free all November long.
If you've been putting off that article, grant proposal, or evaluation materials... this is your month.
What is Co-Working?
We write together on Zoom. There's something almost magical about working alongside other faculty who understand what you're trying to do. It makes starting easier and keeps you accountable.
Here's What Happens:
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 AM Central (through November)
- Quick hellos and share what you're working on (5-8 minutes)
- Focused writing time in blocks with the timer running
- Short breaks to stretch and refill your coffee (as you need)
- Celebration of what got done at the end
- Cameras on when you can, mics muted while working
Drop in for the whole session or just part of it. Leave early if you need to.
The Simple Formula:
- Block off time on your calendar
- Show up - especially when you don't feel like it
- Write (or outline, organize notes, run stats - anything that moves your project forward counts!)
One month of showing up consistently could transform your relationship with your writing.
